Disney Cruise Line for Adults

Let’s be honest. The first thing most people think about when pondering the option of a Disney Cruise is that “it’s for kids.” That statement is 150% true. A Disney Cruise is for kids, but it’s also 150% for adults. (Trust me, I took statistics twice.)
A Disney Cruise is for everybody. That is how they position themselves in the market, and that is how they truly strive to be. While there are so many things onboard for kids to enjoy, there are just as many (if not more) things for adults to enjoy! Below is a list of Adult activities aboard Disney Cruise Line.
- Adult Nightclubs - Evolution,The Tube, Fathoms, and Wavebands. These are the names of the night clubs located on all four of Disney’s ships. Here you will find dancing until the late hours of the night with each ship’s special DJ. Before dancing the night away, these clubs are home to some of the best adult entertainment at sea. You’ll find comedians, ventriloquists, jugglers, karaoke, and even some great adult shows starring your cruise staff and fellow cruisers. (Match your Mate anyone?) The Nightclubs are not to be missed!
- Skyline Lounge - Located on the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream only, the Skyline Lounge is an excellent place to hang out and mingle with fellow cruisers, as well as enjoy the scenery of many beautiful cities. With Magical “windows” behind the bar, adults are transported to different cities and get to view living breathing skylines of New York, Rome, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and more! The view is not the only aspect that changes with each city — the ambiance music changes, as well as the drink special.
- Sports Bar/Pub - Known as O’Gills Pub on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic, 687 on the Dream, and Diversions on the Wonder, this is the place to sit back, relax, have a drink, and watch some sports on some high-definition television screens. This is also often where Disney Cruise hosts single meet and greets!
- Palo - This adult-only restaurant on all of Disney’s ships is Italian themed, and a must-do for adults. Palo is home to some of the very best scenery and food at sea. For a mere $30 per person, you can be spoiled by the staff in this luxurious experience that will never be forgotten. Don’t forget to order the Chocolate Soufflé. It takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare, but it is literally the perfect end to the perfect meal.
- Remy - Located only aboard the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, Remy is a French restaurant inspired by the Disney-Pixar film, Ratatouille. At $85 per person, you will be treated to a multiple course meal that will span a few hours. The menu was created in part by Chef Scott Hunnel, who is the mind behind the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This is the most exquisite dining establishment at sea!
- Quiet Cove Pool - Here you will find a quiet relaxing place to lounge in the pool or in the sun for adults only. You don’t even have to leave the pool to reach the bar on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy! You can even relax in a hot tub with a glass bottom, so you can see all the way down to the ocean! On the Dream and Fantasy, the entire top front section of the ship is an adults-only sunning area, complete with its own bar!
- First Run Movies - Been meaning to go see a movie at a theater back home, but haven’t had the time? Check out the Buena Vista Theater! Home to movies that are currently or have recently played in theaters that are distributed by Disney. Look out for the newest Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar movies!
- Serenity Bay - If your cruise includes a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, you will have the amazing opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the island’s adults-only beach! Located a distance away from the family beach, you’ll find that Serenity Bay is quiet and has an untouched beauty to it. Adults will also have access to a buffet just for them complete with freshly grilled ribeye steaks!
- Castaway Cay 5K - Trying to work off all the extra food you’ve eaten on the trip? When you visit Castaway Cay, you can take a fast tour of the island in the form of the 5k! This is a great way to start your relaxing beach day, with a bang!
- Senses Spa - Looking to be pampered? Sit back and relax in the Senses Spa and watch the sea go by. You can purchase different Spa treatments here, whether for yourself or for both you and your partner. You can also purchase access to the various relaxation rooms which include private hot tubs, scented saunas, and rainforest showers! Don’t forget to check out the Fitness Center! To help justify that extra dessert at dinner (or 2 extra main courses).
There is so much to do for adults and kids alike on Disney Cruise Line, that you’ll never want to get off! And just because it is not Adult Only, it doesn’t mean an adult can’t enjoy it! Don’t skip out on the Water Coaster, the AquaDuck on the Fantasy and Dream, or the AquaDunk on the Disney Magic! And DO NOT miss any of the shows!
