The vacation of a lifetime is approaching. With every passing day, you get closer and closer to your Disney Cruise! It’s time to pack, and I bet you’re worried you might forget something! Worry no more! This guide will help you remember what most people forget before and during the cruise.

  • A Pirate Costume: Don’t forget these all important duds! One night during your cruise, you will be treated to the Pirates in the Caribbean Party! The ship, crew, and other guests will all be dressing up! You don’t want to feel left out! And what’s a picture with Captain Jack Sparrow if you aren’t in your finest pirate gear?
  • Your Smart Phone: Aside from having the ability to take pictures on the go, your phone also will allow you to use Disney Cruise Line’s app! You can text family members through the ship’s wifi for free, check the dining menus and times and always have an up to date Personal Navigator (for keeping track of activities).
  • Door Magnets: Every single stateroom door on the Disney Cruise ships is laminated metal, so most guests will bring Disney-themed magnets to decorate their home away from home. We got ours from etsy.com!
  • Running Shoes: Why would you ever want to run on a cruise ship? That’s what most people say when they DON’T pack their running shoes. However, without the shoes, you won’t be able to take part in the Castaway Cay 5k! A fun run around Disney’s Private island, that rewards you and the other runners with special medals!
  • Bottled Water: It never hurts to have some bottled water in your room. With all the fun in the sun, you need to stay hydrated!
  • Travel Documents: Passports, birth certificates, IDs….. etc. Don’t forget them, or you’ll be heading home a lot sooner than expected…
  • Trading Pins: If you’re a Disney Pin Trader, don’t forget your pins! You’ll have an amazing opportunity to trade with the ship’s officers one night! Not to mention there are large cases of pins in every single store that you can trade with as much as you want!
  • Character Tickets: As soon as you board the ship, go directly to the Port Adventure’s desk. Here you can sign up for specific meetups with Disney characters such as Anna and Elsa, the world famous Disney Princesses, and the Disney Junior Breakfast. It’s 100% free but guarantees you an opportunity for mingling and pictures!
  • Semi-Formal Clothing: On many Disney Cruises, you will have a Formal night. While you don’t need to break out tuxedos and evening gowns, you should bring something nice to wear. Avoid shorts, jeans, tanktops, etc.
  • Disney Infinity Figures: New to the Disney Dream only, starting October 26, 2015, kids will be able to have fun in the Disney Infinity area of the ship! Bring your own figures to play as your favorite character. The ship will have all of them, but why level up the ship’s figures?!?
