Tour Details
The excitement begins as you and your group meet up with your guide for a scenic drive through the countryside to Hattieville while learning about the history and culture of the area. Upon arrival at the Jeep base camp you will board your own Jeep Wrangler for a thrilling, 30 minute ride through the rugged Belize terrain led by an experienced guide (during the rainy season you will experience the ever popular "mudding").
While on the trail you will stop for a short hike to a hidden cave system that will reveal to you its stunning stalagmite, stalactites and rock formations. Keep an eye out for artifacts used in this ancient Mayan underworld! Afterward, it's back into the Jeep for a fun filled ride past orchards and mud pits to a private venue where you will take a break with a delicious lunch of rice and beans, stewed chicken, fried plantains, and potato salad.
From there, continue to the riverside for a relaxing 45 minute boat cruise accompanied by great white herons and king fishers flying overhead. Be sure to grab photos of iguanas, crocodiles, and much more as you learn how the ancient Mayans used the river.
