Rum, Chocolate and Snorkel

Take a relaxing sail down the west coast to Soufriere where you will first see the famous Pitons as they rise majestically out of the sea, followed by a visit to the refreshing Toraille Waterfall. The Pitons are two mountainous volcanic spires that are linked by the Piton Mitan ridge and are a World Heritage Site. The Toraille Waterfall is a breathtaking site that gushes 50 feet over a cliffside and cascades into a pool at the center of a charmingly landscaped garden.

Following this you will stop off at the bubbling drive-in volcano as you learn how our island was formed or take a dip in the rejuvenating mud baths. Sulphur Springs is the world's only drive-in volcano; it is located towards the southwestern side of the island, near Soufriere (French for place from which sulfur is produced). A sulfur mine was operated by Bennett and Wood from 1836 until 1840. The creation of the sulfur springs came from a weak spot in the crust of the enormous collapsed crater creating an upheaval of lava 410,000 years ago.

Continue from here to relive the tradition and culture at the Morne Coubaril Estate, an original 18th-century working plantation. Be provided a tour and tasting of the delicious rums and chocolates all made locally (children will sample cocoa tea and chocolate). The plantation currently produces cocoa, coffee, and copra, as well as growing a vast selection of tropical fruits such as orange, grapefruit, and lime. Additionally, coconuts are harvested and used to make a delicious coconut cake. Time travel to an 18th-century sugar cane plantation where the journey of cane juice is turned into the finest rum. St. Lucia is also famous for its chocolate; get the chance to walk through and learn the process of turning the cocoa bean into this tasty sweet that everyone loves! Your discovery of the plantation will show you the vegetation and the replica of 18th-century houses, where you will end your guided tour and sample some of the local rums and chocolates. Following this, a fresh local buffet lunch will be served on the estate.

Top off your incredible day by leaving the town of Soufriere and making your way to one of St. Lucia's protected bays for a swim or snorkel stop. Keep your cameras handy for a perfect photo opportunity as you sail through picturesque Marigot Bay with Insta-worthy views from every angle.

Brush up on your dance steps with your guides and crew as they teach you the latest island steps as you begin sailing back to the port area with cold and delicious drinks, a very fun and entertaining way to round out your enjoyable day. Don't miss this chance to see and do "Tout Bagay", a little bit of everything on this Soufriere experience.
