Being on the coast positioned the city of Puntarenas to be an important part of Costa Rica's history. The location made it ideal to become a cargo port, and in fact, it was once one of the most important seaports in the country.

Once back in town your guide will provide a narrated tour around Puntarenas and you will leisurely walk through the famous Paseo de Los Turistas, a boulevard that stretches along the beach near where the cruise ships dock. You will then be returned to the pier area after this amazing day spent in Costa Rica with memories that will last a lifetime.
