Victoria

Tour Details

Bienvenue au Canada! Let us showcase some of our most iconic dishes and share the tales which go along with them. This tour is the ideal way to learn about Canadian culinary culture, from traditional meals to regional ingredients. Learn more about the origins of Canadian foods as you sample regional cuisine, stroll through the renowned Inner Harbour, and sip local beverages. Seven food stops are included in the excursion, and a local professional tour guide provides live commentary.

Dishes include traditional Indigenous Bannock, local smoked seafood, poutine, a Hawaiian Pizza, Nanaimo Bar, a maple syrup tasting, chocolates from Canada's oldest chocolate shop, and a BC wine tasting. Due to availability, dishes may change.

Begin your culinary adventure by making your way to your rendezvous point at the Finest At Sea Fish Market to cram down delicious seafood like candied salmon and smoked tuna. Then, sample traditional cuisines at Imagine Studio Cafe which is located right next door. Next, head to Fisherman's Wharf to sample Hawaiian pizza at a floating pizzeria. Discover how this popular style of pizza was invented in Canada by a Greek immigrant. As the tour strolls along James Bay, the guide will go into the early history of Victoria including the influence of George Vancouver and the importance of the gold rush.

The tour will then proceed into the Inner Harbour among some of the most iconic buildings in the city including the Steamship Terminal Building, the Legislative Building, and the Empress Hotel. Here, the tour will sample maple syrup, which is the most famous Canadian export of all! Guests will also sample a Nanaimo bar which is a sweet local delicacy. Love what you're tasting? You will be able to take home the recipe to make again. After strolling around the harbor, the tour will end on Government Street.

On a busy Government street, the tour will stop at two iconic Canadian businesses including Rogers' Chocolates, the oldest chocolate shop in Canada, and Beavertails. Here, you will taste poutine, a Quebec dish that contains fries, cheese curds, and gravy. It's not for the faint of heart. The tour ends at Artisan wine. Canada is one of the only producers of ice wine in the world and here you will get to try this rare delicacy. Feel free to bring home a uniquely Canadian souvenir.
