Pyramids and the Nile Tour

Your journey begins as your guides pick you up for a pleasant ride by air-conditioned vehicle to the famous Great Pyramids in Giza. Enjoy the changing views as your guides share fascinating stories and noteworthy facts along the way.

Arrive on site to a panoramic view of the pyramids of Cheops, Mykerinus and Chephren. These magnificent structures were believed to have been built as tombs and storage houses for deceased ancient Pharaohs to perform their duties as kings of the dead. Here you will also see the limestone statue of the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple which served several functions including serving as the main entrance to the pyramid complex and connecting the area to the Nile. Take a few minutes to close your eyes, imagine what constructing those buildings were like, then take plenty of photos before heading to a restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch while overlooking the Nile.

From there you will board a traditional felucca sailing boat for a 30-minute ride down the Nile with spectacular views of Cairo from the water. Conclude your tour with an optional stop at the traditional bazaars as you make your way back to port.

Guests must be able to step in and out of the boat. Collapsible wheelchair/walkers permitted; mobile-impaired guests must have a companion to assist. If you do not have a wheelchair one can be provided for a fee. This tour requires an Egyptian visa that may be included in your cruise package; if not, you may purchase one on board for a $15-$25 USD fee.
